WWF Climb for Nature x CN Tower

I’m climbing the CN Tower… for the animals!

For those that didn’t know, I moved to Canada about a year and a half ago. While living here, I learnt of the annual CN Tower climb for WWF.

Although climbing 1,766 stairs sounded like a slightly unhinged challenge, I figured it couldn’t be any worse than hiking to the toilets in a Wetherspoons.

There’s also the fact that the fundraiser is for a cause that means a lot to me. I’ve been donating to WWF every month for over 6 years now. I’m not especially virtuous but, this feels like the simplest way I can contribute to protecting the natural world and the animals living in it. 

This climb is me doing something a little bit less passive and anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. My goal is to raise $444, roughly £241, which equates to 25 cents for every stair climbed.

Thank you to everyone that donated to my fundraiser! I really appreciate the support and your words of encouragement. 

You’ll be glad to know that I’ve been training… hard. This means that I’ve been taking the stairs instead of the lift, or perhaps I should say “elevator”.

It’s actually the 50th anniversary of the CN Tower which makes this a very cool year to be doing the climb. It will also be the first time I go up the tower, even though I’ve been here for a year and a half. 

All in all, I’ll be putting in my best effort. It might take me a while, but I will get to the top eventually. Whether I manage to walk home afterwards though is a different question entirely.
