Intro!
Mercredi 27th Mar Hey there! I'm AJ, a part-time film student, public speaker, and wildlife advocate who has dedicated a large part of my life to making trying to make a difference, one step at a time. So why not spend a day making a difference 1,776 steps in one go?Since I was a kid, I've had lifelong dreams of taking part in activities related to helping wildlife. At the age of 5, I made a committed choice to become a vegetarian, a decision that hasn't wavered since. My passion for conservation runs deep, and it's been a driving force in my life ever since. I was strongly influenced by individuals like the Kratt Brothers, Jane Goodall, Steve Irwin, and I continue to view those people as heroes for the environment and wildlife.
Every year, in lieu of gifts at Christmas, I ask my family to "adopt" animals through WWF on my behalf. This tradition has resulted in a growing collection of adopted animals, and it always fills me with pride to see the list get longer each year. WWF is something I'm a firm believer in, and I love making their initiatives a part of my life even in small ways. As an award-winning impact speaker, I've had the privilege of working with local and national charitable initiatives, raising awareness about homelessness, mental health, LGBTQ+ rights and experiences, and advocating for accessibility for people with both visible and invisible disabilities. The CN tower's WWF climb is the way I choose to give back to a charity dedicated to a cause no less important to my heart. As one of the only charities with the privilege of accessing the tower's stairs, WWF stands as a beacon of hope for conservation efforts worldwide. It's a true honor to climb these iconic steps as a way to raise money for their vital initiatives.
This year, I'm climbing with the knowledge that each step I take brings us closer to protecting our planet and its incredible wildlife.
Please support me on this incredible journey as myself and countless others climb for a cause, raising funds and awareness for the protection of our planet's most vulnerable species. With the rapidly changing climate, record breaking wildfires, and new species reaching endangered status at an alarming speed, this is a wonderful chance to make a difference and to give back to the planet we all call home. See you from the top! Share
